Slab is a dirty, lo-fi gain pedal with a range that goes from clean-ish into overdrive and fuzz.
A tube-like JFET preamp section with a James tone stack drives a responsive silicon bi-polar transistor output stage. There’s also a footswitch activated JFET boost to overdrive the preamp stage, adding more gain and harmonic saturation.
The pre-gain tone stack provides control over which frequency ranges are emphasized and is a powerful tool for shaping the texture of the overdriven sound. The post-gain tone knob is a passive low pass filter to dial back any unwanted harshness and shape the final sound.
Slab is an all transistor design, hand soldered with all through-hole construction except for the surface mount JFETS. Every transistor is tested before soldering, and every pedal is calibrated and tested after assembly to ensure quality and consistency.
Mono in and out.
Use with a 9V center negative power supply only.
